FAQs for New Scandinavian Cooking

We know that our viewers and fans are enthusiastic chefs. And even if it is quite easy to follow the Chefs cooking on the TV-show, we sometimes need some extra assistance when we are preparing a meal by ourselves. To help you a little on the way, we at New Scandinavian Cooking have put together a list of the most frequently asked questions. We will update this list based on the questions we get from you.
Post your question, please be short and specific, and we will try and reply to you within a few days. By posting a question, you agree that we can post both the question and the reply on ScandCook.com. We will not, however, share your full name or e-mail address.

DVD
A lot are asking about the dvd. We are very happy that our show has many followers and many of you want to buy a dvd. And the good news is that a dvd is about to be released. It has taken us longer than expected -- but sometime in September 2005 the dvd will be released. We appreciate your patience regarding the dvd!

Music
The music from the show is made in-house at Tellus Works, the production company. The music is tailor made for this series and is not available for purchase. We are really happy that so many of you have enjoyed the music for the TV-series -- and we take that as a huge compliment.

Scandinavian Food
Many are asking about where to buy Scandinavian food. It is not really easy to give a general answer on this question. However, there are numerous sources on the Internet that will be happy to take your order.

Menus
A lot of mails are asking about special menus for different occasions. Of course, it is difficult to meet everyone’s demands. We have tried to make menus for some of the most important happenings -- and we hope that that will cover for most.

Recipes
A very large cut of the mails we receive naturally regards the recipes. Some recipes were for different reasons left out. Now however, we think that we have every single recipe from the two series in place.

TV Guide
Our TV Guide is updated frequently.
New Scandinavian Cooking with Tina Nordstrom is airing on most PBS stations this fall. To find your local station & schedule, click on this handy station finder.

The Kitchen
Our kitchen is tremendously popular! It is not, however, available for general sale. The kitchen was especially made by designer Al Coulsen from England -- who currently lives in Norway.

Gravlax
Yes -- the recipe is in place!

Aquavit
Aquavit is a Scandinavian liquor made of a wide variety of herbs. It may be a bit hard to get hold of some places. If it proves impossible, than you can make your own mock aquavit by adding all the spices to a bottle of vodka and let it sit for about a week. Use a mixture of the dried spices Andreas is using for the grill skewers from the show called “Ugly but Delicious”. (check out the Recipe Collection).

Potato Pancakes
Surprising batches of mails were asking about the potato pancakes. Since this was something Andreas did not actually cook himself -- we decided to leave it out of the recipe collection at first. However -- the pressure from the great public made us change our mind -- and the old lady’s recipe is now in place...
